Virtual Aqua Fitness with Hydrohex

We are delighted to be able to offer our members a Virtual Aqua Fitness class with the Hydrohex technology here at Westpark Fitness. At our swimming pool (which is one of only a couple of stainless steel pools in all of Ireland!) you will see we have a big television screen with a blue remote control holder in front of it at the pool. You can use this to select a class to complete with the aid of the instructors who complete the movements on screen for you to replicate in the pool.

Note that the class can be completed in two ways. The first are scheduled classes which you can book your place into on the Westpark Fitness app (places can be booked up to seven days in advance). The second option is the on-demand option whereby once nobody else is completing an Aqua Fitness or a Virtual Aqua Fitness class, you are free to use the remote control to select the class you would like to complete. Note that if you are completing an on-demand virtual class and a scheduled class is about to begin, a countdown timer will appear on the screen to let you know when the scheduled class is due to take over.

Some examples of classes that you can complete with the Hydrohex software at the pool include Cardio (take your endurance to the next level), Power (full body workout with dedicated muscle moves), Move (to support core strength and mobility) and Beat (lift your heart rate and improve coordination at once). Like with our traditional Aqua Fitness class, you can expect to burn up to 250 calories or more per Virtual Aqua class. If you have a Myzone Switch device, you can also wear this when completing the classes to earn meps as the device is waterproof and therefore suitable to wear for any type of Aqua Fitness class and when swimming too!
