Don’t Give up the Gym in the Run-Up to Christmas!

Don’t Give up the Gym in the Run-Up to Christmas!
The countdown to the most festive time of the year is here!
Can you feel that buzz going around to do . . . well . . . absolutely nothing? We have worked hard all year and with high productivity comes the want to just chill out and enjoy our free time. Just remember one very important thing! The gym IS the place you want to be when you have a little bit of free time. Ten excuses why to not go to the gym coming up to Christmas and ten reasons as to why you should!

1. I'm way too busy and don’t have the time!
Yes, it is getting darker in the afternoon, however the morning is better than ever - being beautifully bright and fresh. Turn yourself into an early riser and early gym goer and it will give you the boost you have needed to stay positive and make better choices for the rest of the day.
2. It's getting too dark and it makes me want to just chill out and stay at home!
Whether you are busy with work or whether you have a lot of mental clutter in your head stopping you from being productive,; even a short gym session (thirty to forty-five minutes) will have huge benefits to help clear you to mind and feel more positive. This will make you way happier and much more productive with a better mindset.
3. I will just wait until the new year to set new goals and I will stick to it!
Who said anything about new goals . . ? Even maintaining the strength and fitness levels you have now will 100% stand to you when we ring in the new year and you will be even more motivated to chase down your new goals.
4. I have been good all year, so I think I will just take a break from the gym until January!
When did the gym become a place that you need a break from? If it is, then things need to change immediately. Whether you need tips for a more suitable and enjoyable training plan or even hints on how to fit the gym into your busy schedule, please book in with one of our friendly fitness team members tat Westpark Fitness and we will get you to start thinking that the gym is the place you can't wait to be in when you have free time.
5. I'm not really motivated to go to the gym by myself!
This is the perfect time to buddy up and go to the gym with a friend or family member. You will enjoy getting results together and keeping each other on track all the way into 2019. They can book a free tour of Westpark Fitness with one of our team to see our premier fitness facilities for themselves!
6. I'm way too tired to train in the winter! Maybe its the weather or something . . ?
Habits of not getting up and about during the winter months and staying active can lead to a cycle of being tired all the time and not being motivated to exercise until the spring and summer months. Get up and have a drink of water and go to the gym - even for a short and easy session. Simply ask yourself if you feel better afterwards and this will be the start of a new (healthy) habit!
7. I just don't feel like going to the gym coming up to Christmas!
The chances are that if you do not feel like going to the gym even for a few sessions each week, that you don't really feel like doing ANYTHING . . . Ask yourself if this is true! Make time to continue going to the gym and you will feel like doing a lot more! You will thank yourself for this and be glad that you did it.
8. I don't know anyone that continues to go to the gym around Christmas!
If this is the case, then you have not met some fantastic, driven, happy and motivated people! Just because you don't know many people continuing to train, it doesn't mean that you cannot come in and feel great like the rest of the regular gym goers. You will see for yourself that Westpark Fitness remains fun, fit and active all through the festive season.
9. I will be 100% committed from January - but not right now!
Who said you had to give it 100% now? It really is a case of something is better than nothing. You will (at the very least) burn a few calories, increase your endorphins to naturally feel great and maybe even socialise with other friendly gym goers and staff. This may leave you wondering why you ever tried to make an excuse not to go.
10. I have 1001 reasons not to go to the gym!
The chances are, the more reasons you have NOT to do something, this is probably the case for many things you do. Just don't make the gym one of those things that you feel you need a quick excuse to get out of. If you become a regular gym goer, you may find that you have less and fewer excuses to NOT do a lot of other things . . .
Stay fun and stay fit this festive season by continuing with your gym sessions and class attendance this festive season. Thinking of joining a premier fitness facility like Westpark?
