Key Benefits

Chair Pilates is a smart and accessible way to stay strong and mobile if you are recovering from an illness or injury, post menopause or if you simply would like a gentle but effective option to movement. As we age, both bone health and muscle mass decline which highlights the importance of preventing the likes of osteoporosis with resistance exercises and movements. Concerns regarding balance, flexibility and mobility are key factors incorporated into each Chair Pilates class here at Westpark Fitness.

Main Movements

  • Core Strengthening
  • Spinal Mobility and Posture
  • Flexibility and Stretching
  • Upper and Lower Body Strength and Stability
  • Balance and Co-ordination (using chair for support)

We always incorporate the breath in Pilates to both power the movements and support the core. This helps class participants to wove with control, presence and intention.
